About Us
Hart Heritage Preservation Group, Inc. (HHPG) is a Michigan nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to the history of Hart, Michigan.
Who we are
HHPG manages the Hart Historic District and Museum, a historic village of original, restored buildings in Hart. The district was designated as a historic site in 1984. The property is owned by the City of Hart, and HHPG operates and cares for it in partnership with the City.
Our work brings together historic building stewardship, museum collections care and research, public education, and community events, all led by a volunteer board of directors and community volunteers.
Our partnership with the City of Hart
HHPG and the City of Hart work together on the care of the historic district, long-range planning for the site, and grant funding for preservation projects. This partnership allows the district to remain a public resource for the entire community.
Governance
HHPG is governed by a volunteer board of directors elected under the organization's bylaws. The board oversees the organization's finances, facilities, collections, and programs, and reports regularly on its work.
